It’s true…because of Covid-19 this is the new normal…welcome!

The good news – we’ve already been doing it. The bad news…nobody knows what next!

What does the new normal mean in terms of marketing? Great question.

Here’s a little joke I heard – if April/May/June you could interview January you (think about what you’d tell yourself 6 months ago about the past few?) Anyway, one of the punchlines of this joke was BUY STOCK IN ZOOM!! So many meetings are happening via Zoom – BECAUSE BUSINESS IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN! Marketing is still happening – it’s just happening differently now…and it’s not going to change anytime soon (maybe not until 2021.)

What does that mean for your voice talent?

a) It means they MUST have a personal studio – MUST!!! Many studios are shutting down because it’s very difficult to sanitize a mic – ya know?

b) It means the talent must have a digital way to connect with the client (SourceConnect, ISDN, ipDTL, Skype, Zoom, SessionLink Pro, ConnectionOpen or even a phone patch.) I prefer SourceConnect myself.

c) Be more flexible! You’re working from home, the campground, the beach, the in-laws & any other place…so embrace it.

d) This is for anyone but you need great internet! I was at the lake & there was no internet because of location – I did sessions via hotspot because as they say – the show must go on!

In a nutshell – what is the new normal? It’s what you’re doing now & have been for the past 3 months. It’s NORMAL. You must market. You must continue to create. Business will (and must) continue. Things are just different now. That’s ok…if you’re prepared for it because it is after COVID-19: THE NEW NORMAL!
